Ever since I was in college in the early ’90s I have been a fan of the Dave Matthews Band. Over my years in business I have been lucky to become friends with some members of the band and get to see the band perform when they come to town.

When we see the show, we usually get passes backstage and the opportunity to enjoy some refreshments at the bar. This was the first time I was able to sample all the wines from Dave’s vineyard, Dreaming Tree in Virginia. This night they had Chardonnay, Cabernet and a blend called “Crush”. Being a huge DMB fan I instantly got that both Dreaming Tree and Crush were titles of two of their songs.

My favorite of the three was Crush. Full bodied, a bit fruity and dare I say, a touch refreshing after dancing around for three hours. I recently grabbed a bottle on of Crush for dinner and it was a very good daily drinker. And this time it tasted much better out of a proper wine glass, rather than a plastic cup backstage at the show.
