When an establishment’s motto is, “Put your rump on a stump” it is a place I need to check out. This was a place I needed to check out. The specialty of the house is their roasted clams which are served by the dozen.
So I put my rump on a stump and ordered up a couple of dozen roasted clams and opened up the bottle of wine I brought (the place is BYOB so make sure you plan ahead).
Growing up on the East Coast we always ate our clams either fried or steamed. My first time eating grilled clams was, um…, ah…, AMAZING! They were so good that when I cook clams at home now I put them on the grill. Place them on the grill, let them open, rip off the top when it opens and place a dollop of cocktail sauce and let cook. When the cocktail sauce gets thicker, serve! One word – amazing!!
